Cumann na mBunscoil handball county finals are a huge success

Cumann na Mbunscoil Finalists 2025

Handball is alive and well at National School level in Tipperary with 18 Schools taking part in the Cumann na mBunscoil County Finals resulting in 65 Players competing and a total of 37 Games played.

The Schools that competed were Ardcroney, Carrig, Silvermines, Ballina, CBS Nenagh, Lissenhall, Boher, St Michaels Cloghjordan, Kiladangan, Burgess, Gaelscoil C-O-Suir, CBS Carrick On Suir, Newport Convent, Newport BNS, KIlruane, Ballinaclogh, Youghalarra and  Gaelscoil Nenagh.

Big thanks to Nenagh and Youghalarra Clubs for hosting the games. There was a huge turnout of Supporters at the finals and both galleries were packed to capacity.

BU11D Conor Nolan and Alfie Finn (Gaelscoil C-O-Suir) defeated Thomas Murphy and  Daniel Ryan (Lissenhall) 11/3, 11/7
GU13S Aoife McLoughney (Ardcroney N.S.) Defeated Emily Monaghan (Ballina N.S.) 10/11, 11/7
BU13S Josh O Mahony (Newport CNB) defeated Eoin Hanrahan (Ballinaclogh N.S. ) 11/8, 9/11
GU13D Ella Slattery and  Ava Joyce (Ballina N.S.) Defeated Telma Sanz Irusta and Edin Nevin (Lissenhall N.S.) 11/4, 11/5
BU13D Jim O Mahony and Tadhg Malone defeated Conor Harrington and Daniel Sheridan (Ballinaclogh N.S.) 11/8, 11/2

Both Winners and Runners Up were presented with medals. The County CNB Co-Ordinator Paddy Collins praised all the
players that took part and thanked Teachers, Parents, Club Coaches and everyone who helped to make it such a special
day.

He wished all going forward to represent the County in the Munster stages of the Competition the best of luck.
