BREAKING: Plans to turn Tipperary hotel into IPAS centre put on hold

High Court grants judicial review hearing to Dundrum Heritage Group.

The Dundrum Heritage Group has this week been granted leave in the high court to pursue a judicial review of the Section five Declaration approved by Tipperary County Council on January 10 of this year.

The group is concerned with a proposed material change of use of the historic hotel, and the high court case means that plans are now on hold for the hotel to possibly open again as an IPAS centre.

The court will hold a judicial review regarding the issue of construction work on the hotel and whether this complied with planning regulations.

The group in Dundrum have said that the judicial review is based on the following grounds:

  • Lack of planning permission for bedrooms.
  • Protected structure considerations.
  • Environmental concerns.

The high court has scheduled the next hearing in the case for April 28 of this year.
