Maher was a steady hand yet again in the heart of the Tipperary defence, and the sight of the Thurles Sarsfields colossus snapping high ball from the sky throughout would warm your heart!
He is relishing the man-marking role and looks comfortable wherever he ends up. Used the ball very well, too, a facet of his game that has come on significantly.
