5. Ronan Maher (Thurles Sarsfields)
Another Maher makes his way into the team of the year, and again, this was much deserved after a stellar year. Fast becoming one of the greats of Tipperary hurling, his current trjectory is frightening, and his performances have reflected that again in the blue of Sarsfields. He hits the world of ball and reads the game so well, and was a solid 8/10 in every game up to the replay, in which he had to tag John McGrath with little success. Some poor shooting options is becoming his achilles heel, but his all round game is unquestioned.
