U14 C Plate Final
Ballingarry 2-04
Thurles Sarsfields 1-06
There was huge excitement in the County Camogie Grounds on Sunday afternoon as Ballingarry and Thurles Sarsfields played out a highly exciting game of camogie that went right down to the wire. Thurles Sarsfields started very strongly in the first half with the aid of the wind.
Aoibhe Purcell and Keeva Nolan were strong in defence, while sharpshooter Sadhbh Murray kept the scoreboard ticking over until the half time whistle blew going in 1-04 to 0-01.
The Ballingarry girls came out fighting in the second half and began to eat up the Sars lead. As the 40th minute approached there was only a single point between the sides with Thurles still in front 1-04 to 1-03.
But then Emily Cahill found the back of the net to swing the momentum in Ballingarry’s favour and give them a 2 point lead. Sars girls weathered the storm and brought the match back level deep within added time with free’s from Sadhbh Murray after excellent hooking, blocking and attacking from both Kaelinn Rossiter and Ava Geoghan.
There was still time for more drama and Ballingarry went on one final attack resulting in Hannah Shelly firing over the winning point.
