Carrick-on-Suir's Brewery Lane Theatre is hosting a Winterfest of poetry, film and drama

Carrick-on-Suir’s Brewery Lane Theatre is hosting a Winterfest of poetry, film and drama next week.

A celebration of the poetry and prose of renowned Carrick-on-Suir poet Michael Coady will kick off the festival at the theatre next Wednesday, November 30.

Readings of Mr Coady’s writings will be carried out by Peg Power, Roseanne Glascott, Colm Power, Liam Butler, Catherine Whelan and Walter Dunphy.

Michael Coady will also read some of his work at the event, which will conclude with refreshment in Brewery Lane Theatre’s tearoom. Admission costs €10 and funds raised will go towards the theatre.

Winterfest continues at Brewery Lane on Thursday, December 1 with the screening of the 1957 classic musical, High Society, starring Bing Crosby, Grace Kelly, Frank Sinatra and Louis Armstrong.

The film commences at 8pm and admission will be €10.

Meanwhile, Theatre Vamp Waterford will stage a production of Willy Russell’s play, Educating Rita, at Brewery Lane on Friday, December 2 at 8pm. Admission costs €15 and will include refreshments.
