Tipperary club gets permission for new all-weather astro-turf pitch

A football club in Tipperary has been granted permission to keep changes previously made to the club premises, as well as permission to build a new all-weather astro-turf pitch.

Cloughjordan FC applied to retain changes made to their club that included a modular build structure providing dressing rooms & toilets for the club, as well as other changes made.

The club was also granted permission to build an all-weather astro-turf playing surface to the existing Junior pitch area.

Permission was granted by Tipperary County Council to build the new pitch, subject to five conditions.

One condition set out requires all works to take place during the hours of 8am to 6pm on Monday to Friday and 8am to 2pm on Saturday’s.

No works are to be carried out on bank holidays or weekends due to noise worries for homes in the area.

The council have also asked that proposed lighting shall be erected by a suitably qualified lighting specialist and the lighting directed and cowled such as to reduce the light scatter outside the boundaries of the site.
