Tipp county council invite the public to have their say on greenway plans

Nenagh Urban Greenway Consultation

Nenagh

Tipperary County Council intends to develop the Nenagh Urban Greenway which commences adjacent to the Lisbunny Industrial Estate where it follows the route of the existing informal walkway along the eastern bank of the river. The path crosses the Lower Birr Road at the existing masonry road bridge and continues north along the western bank of the River.

The ambition for this project is to improve an existing walking route and make it accessible to all users. The scheme aims to provide a high quality 2.4km long, 3.0m wide shared cycle and footpath along the River Nenagh to promote modal shift by improving active travel connectivity.

Grant funding has been secured from the National Transport Authority (NTA) to progress the Nenagh Urban Greenway through the Planning Phase of the Project.

Tipperary County Council are hosting a non-statutory public consultation from the 21st of October until the 15th November and is now inviting members of the public to have their say on the draft designs for the scheme. The draft designs are now available for inspection online here and at the Tipperary County Council, Civic Offices, Limerick Road, Nenagh, Co. Tipperary, E45 A099

During this period, they will host an open afternoon from 3pm to 7.30pm on Thursday 7th November at the Abbey Court Hotel Nenagh where members of the public can view the draft designs and discuss their views with the Design Team.

They would like to hear your views, suggestions and ideas on this exciting opportunity for Nenagh Town.
