On Facebook, St Paul's Boxing Club in Nenagh wrote:
"Hi all,
"Unfortunately I am writing with some sad news. Some people may have noticed the planning application on the club door in recent months. Today, we received the news that planning has been granted. For us, this means we will need to find a new home. How long we have until we need to move out is unknown yet, but we need to start the look for a new home.
"If anyone has any contacts to someone who may own an empty premises around Nenagh, can they please message me their information. We are a voluntary, non profitable club and therefore we can not afford mad expensive prices. We try to only charge our members the bear minimum so that we can cover costs of electricity, insurance, gear maintenance, etc.
"Any help would be much appreciated.
"Again as mentioned previously, we ourselves don't have much information at the moment with time, but those of ye who are familiar with planning process, this application only lasts a few months before it expires, therefore we ourselves will need to be out of the club within the next few months."
They have since provided an update following a significant level of local support saying: "A big thank you for the support. After speaking to the landlord planning is still in the process. However will will be on the look out for a new home. Please can we keep the support up and help us find a new home."
