Removal of outpatient hospital transport services across South Tipperary described as 'deeply concerning'

In a statement released by Cllr. Declan Burgess, Cathaoirleach of Tipperary County Council, he described the news as 'deeply concerning'.

A Tipperary councillor has said he is deeply concerned by the removal of outpatient hospital transport services across South Tipperary.

The statement from Cllr. Declan Burgess, Cathaoirleach of Tipperary County Council, says:

"I am deeply concerned by the recent and subtle removal of outpatient hospital transport services across South Tipperary. Over the past number of weeks, I have witnessed several cases where transport for hospital appointments has been abruptly cancelled, causing significant distress and confusion for vulnerable outpatients.

"These cancellations appear to have occurred without clear communication or justification, leaving many patients struggling to access essential medical care. I have raised urgent questions as to why so many individuals, previously eligible for this transport support, have now been left without it.

"I am currently examining the criteria governing access to this service and have formally written to the HSE to express my concerns and seek clarity. Our communities deserve fairness and support in accessing critical healthcare."
