Tipperary's Ken McDonald sets new Irish record at indoor rowing championships

Ken McDonald set a new Irish record at the Irish Indoor Rowing Championships at the University Of Limerick Sports Arena last weekend, winning the Men's Open Lightweight event in a time of one minute  24.2 seconds.
This was only 0.2 of a second off the world record.
Ken also won the 2,000 metres event in a time of 6 minutes 32 seconds.
Ken is the current World Indoor champion 50-plus Lightweight in both events.
He is a proud Moneygall resident.
