Hockey player from Tipperary enjoys success at home and abroad

Caoimhe Perdue from Cashel was a member of the Loreto Hockey Club, Dublin team that recently secured victory in the EY Hockey League and won a bronze medal in the Women’s EuroHockey Club Trophy.

The EY Hockey League saw Ireland’s top Men’s and Women’s clubs compete for the honour of being crowned EY Hockey League Winners and EY Champions Trophy Winners. The National League format was first established in 2008.

Loreto secured the league title with a win over UCC in Cork and their final game of the season was against Old Alex in Loreto.

The game ended in a draw but Loreto secured a bonus point, with Caoimhe Perdue scoring a goal in an exciting penalty shoot-out.

Loreto then had the honour of representing Ireland in the Euro Hockey Club Trophy competitition in Rakovnik, Czechia at Easter.

After a 1-0 defeat by Hampstead and Westminster HC, they beat Cambrai HC from France to win bronze.
