Participants in the Camphill Community programme for adults with learning disabilities showcased their art and craft work at the family and friends day

A happy and relaxed fundraising family and friends day was hosted at the Camphill Community’s Journeyman Programme for adults with learning disabilities at Ballinagrana, Carrick-on-Suir on August 28.

The Journeyman Programme’s day attendees along with members of their families were treated to a delicious barbecue, homegrown salads, pizzas and home bakes at the afternoon social gathering.

Craftwork made by the Journeyman Programme participants were showcased at the event.

They included mosaic creations, handcrafted baskets, ceramics, woven creative pieces and colourful felt work.

Beautiful artwork also adorned the walls, showing the great collective talent of all the Journeyman Project members.

There was also a raffle featuring 25 very generous prizes donated by the local business community.

Journeyman Programme Day Service Team Lead Leah Butler thanked everyone for attending and supporting the event and spoke about its aim to raise funds to install a defibrillator at the entrance gates ‘to give back to the community’. The event raised more than €2,000.
