The Carrick-on-Suir Municipal District Cathaoirleach Awards were held in Comeragh College, Carrick-on-Suir on May 8.
Fethard Athletic Club was nominated for the Cathaoirelach Award to recognise the achievements of the organisation.
Fethard AC was nominated by Cllr Kevin O’Meara, who nominated the club for its contribution to the municipal district and the community.
The Cathaoirleach, Cllr Kieran Bourke and the members of Carrick-on-Suir Municipal District were delighted to welcome all the nominees from within the district to the reception.
Paul Collins from Ballywire Media was the MC for the event.
He showed video footage throughout the evening, highlighting the many successes of each of the nominees.
Presenting the representatives with their awards, the elected members paid tribute to all of the attendees - who they considered all to be winners - and praised their commitment, dedication and enthusiasm in striving to improve their home environment.
It was their great pleasure to present certificates and awards to the recipients.
Congratulations are due to all the nominees, as there is some amazing voluntary work going on in the community.
They included Carrick-on-Suir Development Association, Ballingarry Community Cafe, Fethard and District Daycare Centre, soccer player Lee Grace, Fethard Athletic Club and Tipperary Athletics.
