Carrick GAA club's new all-weather pitch and ball wall to be officially opened and blessed

Carrick Swan GAA Club

Carrick Swan GAA Club will officially open its all-weather playing pitch and ball wall at Páirc na nEalaí this Friday. August 2. 

There will be an official blessing of the all-weather pitch at 7pm by Fr. Jimmy Browne and a blitz for Under 7 players will take place to celebrate the occasion.

Some special guests will attend the official opening so members and supporters are encouraged to attend the celebration. Gates open at 6.15pm.

Adult Hurling, Football, & Camogie

The Carrick Swan Premier Intermediate hurlers showed grit and determination to get over the line against Upperchurch-Drombane in Round 1 of the Seamus O’Riain Cup in Littleton last Friday. They play Ballina next on the weekend of August 11.

Meanwhile, the Junior ‘A’ hurlers will play Cahir in the South Quarter-Final. The game is expected to take place in a few weeks time.

The Under 19s were defeated by Killenaule last Wednesday night. They travel to Cloneen on Wednesday night for a must-win game against Mullinahone.

Juvenile Scene

The Under 17s were defeated by St. Mary’s in Clonmel last week and will play Cahir in Páirc na nEalaí next Monday, August 5.

The Under 15s were comfortable winners against Clonmel Óg last week in Páirc na nEalaí.

Club Lotto

The club lotto jackpot is a massive €13,250 this week as there was no winner of last week’s €13,000 jackpot. Nine match three winners won €30 each in last week's draw. Numbers drawn were 07, 08, 10, 14.

As a gesture of thanks to all those who continue to support the weekly lotto, next week’s match three prize winners will share €500.

Condolences

Carrick Swan club extends condolences to the Hanrahan family of Clonea and Curry Grace family of Rathgormack on their recent bereavements.
