Five trainee gardaí in Tipperary suspended for handcuffs 'prank that got out of hand'

There are a total of 350 trainees currently in the Garda College in Templemore

The Irish Mirror reports that the incident is alleged to have occurred in the Garda Training College in Templemore, county Tipperary within the past two weeks.

Five trainee gardaí have reportedly been suspended for allegedly handcuffing another trainee and leaving him under a running shower in what has been described as "a prank that got out of hand", the Irish Mirror is reporting this Saturday. 

The Irish Mirror reports that the incident is alleged to have occurred in the Garda Training College in Templemore, county Tipperary within the past two weeks.

Michael O'Toole and Nicola Donnelly writing in the Irish Mirror have reported that the five trainees only received their handcuffs the day before.

There are a total of 350 trainees currently in the Garda College in Templemore in north Tipperary.

In a statement to the Irish Mirror on Friday evening, An Garda Síochána said: "An Garda Siochana does not comment on ongoing internal enquiries."
