Bid for tourist bus in busy Tipperary town raised at district meeting

Cllr Jim Ryan said it would be a "fantastic asset" to the town
The Thurles Tourist Office is looking to fund a bus from the town to tourist spots in the area.
Councillor Jim Ryan requested the Thurles-Templemore Municipal District Council at the October meeting.
“I think it would be a fantastic asset to the town if they could get that,” said Cllr Ryan.
He also asked that the tourist office continue to receive funding as their “dedicated staff” provide an important service to Thurles.
District Administrator Sharon Scully said a submission has been made for funding for the tourist office.
In regards to the bus, Ms Scully said it is something they have made an application for previously.
She also said that when another community engagement funding round is called, the tourist office could make a submission.
In the meantime, if any other funding calls are made, the district can advise them.
