LIVE: Gardaí confirm details on Tipperary postman hospitalised in serious dog attack

Over the weekend news broke out that a Tipperary postman had been hospitalised following a dog attack in the Kilcommon area.

The belief that the incident had involved two dogs was confirmed to be true this afternoon by Gardaí who revealed that the man, aged in his 60s, had suffered a number of injuries as a result of the attack.
In a statement to media, Gardaí said:

"Gardaí were alerted to an incident involving two dogs that occurred at a property in Kilcommon, Co. Tipperary on Thursday, 27th February 2025 at approximately 1:40pm.

"A man (60s) received a number of non-life threatening injuries and was taken to University Hospital Limerick for treatment.

"Gardaí have engaged with the owner of the dogs and arrangements are being made with local veterinary services for their destruction.

"Investigations are ongoing."
