Tipperary secondary school students thrive at enterprise competition

Thurles CBS have crowned winners in the Junior and intermediate categories of the Student Enterprise Programme.

The event took place on Friday, March 7, in the TUS campus in Thurles.

They will now go forward to represent Tipperary in the National Finals in May.

In the Junior category, Paul Brett and Noah Hackett have developed a bespoke medal and key holder business.

From the very beginning of the day, they had strong interest in their stand.

They expertly fielded questions from the judges and got a very positive response in being name county champions.

In the intermediate category, Patrick Carr and Cathal O’Gorman have setup an innovative business for the dog lover.

Home made treats and collars with qr codes in case your dog gets lost are their main products.

The judges were highly impressed and displayed this by also sending the boys forward to represent Tipperary at the National finals.

Out of 1800 student businesses set up in Tipperary for this year’s competition, these boys have secured two of the three places available to progress.

The school had 60 teams that had already battled it out at their Christmas Trade Fair to get the opportunity to represent CBS Thurles in the county final.
