A court was told directions are awaited in the case of a man who was arrested in connection with seizure of drugs valued at €8.1 million.

Thomas Ryan, (39) of Wood View, Boulick, Gortnahoe, Thurles, county Tipperary, is accused of possessing cocaine for sale or supply at Killnaseer, Rathdowney, Laois on October 28 last.
Detective Garda Stephen Gillespie said "we would be looking for four weeks for DPPs directions".

Judge Susan Fay adjourned the case back to Portlaoise District Court on December 15 for DPP directions.
She said the defendant can appear via video link on that date.
