LATEST: Road works to begin on busy Tipperary road in coming weeks

The Ladyswell Bridge that runs parallel with the Mill Road in Thurles is due to have construction begin over the coming weeks.

The construction will include a footpath extension and new public lighting.

Speaking on the matter, Cllr Jim Ryan posted on social media about the upcoming works, and outlined his thanks to all of those involved in the project.

"I am delighted to confirm that works will commence over the next few weeks to construct a new footpath extension along with the installation of public lighting out to Ladyswell bridge along the Mill Road in Thurles," he said.

"This project was initiated by Thurles Lions Club in conjunction with Tipperary County council and is now ready to commence shortly. As a resident of the Mill Road I made it my priority to ensure that this project was delivered.

WI would like to thank all the landowners, Thurles Lions Club and Tipperary County council for ensuring that this project would become a reality.

"This is great news for the residents and businesses of the Mill Road, all road users particularly walkers and Thurles Gaels GAA Club," Cllr Ryan concluded.
