North Tipperary skatepark officially reopens after being closed for two years

The skatepark in Thurles had been closed for almost two years, due to what one councillor claimed were ‘allergic reactions’ suffered by skaters
Thurles skatepark is now officially reopened, after a closure of at least two years.
The Council said they were “thrilled” to make the announcement on Friday this week, after repairs were carried out in the last two months.
The park was closed due to medical concerns, after some skaters reported allergic reactions to materials used in the park, said Tipperary County Councillor Jim Ryan back in September.
After equipment was replaced, the Council said “We're thrilled to announce the official reopening of Thurles skatepark!”
“Whether you're a seasoned skater, a beginner finding your feet, a scooter enthusiast, BMX rider, or simply looking for a great outdoor space to enjoy, this fantastic new facility is ready for action.”
“A huge thank you to Spraoi Linn and their talented design team at X-Move for bringing this vision to life.
“Special recognition also goes to our local skate community, whose ideas, feedback and passion helped shape the design of the park.”
“This is a free community facility for everyone to enjoy and we can't wait to see it buzzing with activity, creativity and fun for years to come.”
