Thurles fashion designer Jack Shanahan showcases work at fashion week

A fashion designer from Thurles is making his mark on the Irish fashion scene after showcasing his work at Ireland Fashion Week 2026.

Jack Shanahan recently presented his designs as part of the Ireland Fashion Week Graduate Show, marking an exciting milestone in his journey as an emerging designer. A fashion and textiles graduate, Jack is developing his own label, ‘JACK SHANAHAN’, through which he explores conceptual fashion, innovative outerwear and experimental garment construction.

His work focuses on the relationship between protection, functionality and self-expression, combining creative ideas with a distinctive approach to the design and construction of garments.

“Having the opportunity to showcase my work at Ireland Fashion Week was an exciting milestone in my journey as an emerging designer,” Jack says. “It gave me the opportunity to present my creative vision and share my interest in conceptual fashion, innovative outerwear and experimental garment construction with a wider audience.”

Through his label, JACK SHANAHAN, he continues to explore the relationship between clothing and the ways people express themselves, while pushing the boundaries of traditional garment design.

Looking ahead, Jack hopes to continue developing his label, refining his creative approach and bringing his designs to new audiences.

As a designer emerging from Thurles, his involvement in Ireland Fashion Week highlights the creative talent coming from Tipperary and the opportunities for local graduates to make their mark on the fashion industry.

“I’m excited to continue developing my work and see where the journey takes me,” Jack says.
