Funeral details announced for Tipperary pensioner who died after he was assaulted

The funeral arrangements for the  Tipperary Town pensioner who died after he was assaulted have been released.

81 year-old Teddy Murnane passed away after being found with injuries outside his home in Tipperary Town on the night of Friday 12 September.

Timothy ‘Teddy’ Murnane (81) was found by his wife next to the garage at his home in the St Michael’s Avenue area of the town at around 9.35pm.

Mr Murnane passed away from his injuries in Limerick University Hospital on Monday morning.

Sean Harding (31), of Marian Terrace, Tipperary Town, appeared before Nenagh District Court on Monday following his arrest as part of the investigation into the assault on Mr Murnane.

He will appear before Thurles district court by video link later today.

He is survived by his wife Margaret, daughter Rachel, sons Patrick and Timothy. His remains will repose at Whelan’s Funeral Home, Bansha Road, Tipperary on Thursday evening from 5:30pm to 7:30pm.

The funeral Mass for Teddy Murnane will take place in St. Michael’s Church, Tipperary Town on Friday at 12 noon with burial afterwards in St. Michael’s Cemetery, Tipperary Town.
