RIP, Jackie Hannon
We are deeply saddened to share the passing of Jackie Hannon, a much loved and truly irreplaceable member of Tipperary Musical Society.
It is difficult to imagine TMS without Jackie. A former Chairman and a great servant of the society, he gave decades of calm, diligent and meticulous service.

Jackie loved music from the ballads of his beloved Tipperary to the operettas of TMS, where his sweet tenor voice was a steadfast part of the male chorus.
He was the king of raffles and tickets, an Unsung Hero in every sense (nominated nearly 20 years ago, though he could have been up there every year).
He was awarded the Mai Maher Cup in 2001 and later Life Membership in recognition of his unwavering dedication. Right up until recent years, Jackie remained an integral part of our front of house team, welcoming patrons with warmth, kindness and that familiar beaming smile.

When many of us stand on the stage of the Excel soon, we will instinctively look out to the top of the stairs where Jackie so often stood, and we will feel the warmth of his proud smile once more.
Above all, Jackie was a lovely, lovely man, one who relished company, storytelling, tracing, and the joy of being together. He will be missed beyond belief, but we take comfort in the hope that his reward is great in heaven.
