BREAKING! Busy 'Mr Price' store in Tipperary set to close down next month

Mr Price in Tipperary Town will cease trading next month
In a statement released on Thursday afternoon, Mr Price in Tipperary Town has announced it will cease trading on October 15, 2026.
The statement read:
“MrPRICE is very disappointed to confirm that our Tipperary Town store will cease trading on 15th October.
“We fully respect the decisions of the Court and the planning authorities.
“The site was granted permission as a retail park almost 20 years ago. However, its planning conditions restrict much of the retailing to “bulky goods”, a concept developed when customers were expected to drive to retail parks to collect larger purchases.
“Retail has changed dramatically since then. Online shopping and home delivery have fundamentally changed how bulky goods are purchased.
“Our greatest disappointment is for our amazing Tipperary team, who have stood by us throughout. We sincerely thank them for their commitment and dedication, and we are truly sorry that we have been unable to protect their jobs at this location. We are offering colleagues opportunities in our other Tipperary stores and hope to welcome them back to this store in the future, once the planning issue has been resolved.
“Our focus now turns to the future. We intend to work constructively with all stakeholders to seek the appropriate rezoning of the wider retail park, allowing it to attract a vibrant mix of national retailers and become a genuine shopping destination bringing more people into Tipperary Town.
“We sincerely hope that, in time, MrPRICE could reopen here and welcome many of our team back.
“We remain committed to Tipperary Town.”
