Top five things to do in Tipperary this weekend

The sun is coming, and we're here for it!
The sun is here!!!
This weekend has to be spent outdoors, and here's Tipperary Live’s top picks for the weekend
LIVE AND LOUD CLONMEL
Clonmel promises an unforgettable night of free live music on O'Connell Street Clonmel on Saturday evening, 3 May.
Headline act Ruaile Buaile will bring their high-octane, traditional Irish music, supported by trad band Ceolan.
This is a free family-friendly event, and the live acts will begin at 7pm.
CABRAGH WETLANDS
It's National Biodiversity Week, and with the heat that’s about to hit us, an ideal time to visit the lush Cabragh Wetlands outside Thurles for a free lively course on nature-friendly planting.
There will be a free lunch and a free drought resistant pollinator plant for all participants of the course. Things kick off at 11am, check Eventbrite for more.
RHODODENDRON WALKING FESTIVAL
It’s the time of year when The Vee bursts into colour with the (invasive, beautiful) Rhododendron. There are a legion of trails around Bay Lough and the Knockmealdowns, and sure Clogheen is only a skip away to get a cone afterwards.
ATHASSEL PRIORY
Take a picnic, throw yourself down by the stream at Athassel Priory near Golden, and do nothing at all. Sounds good, right?!
THE HURLING
Naturally, on Sunday get yourself to your nearest pub with an outdoor seating area and a TV screen. Might be an idea to fit Mass in first and throw an ol’ prayer up…
