'Never a dull moment' - Tipp councillor's stint on RTE's Prime Time gets cut off by unusual suspect

Tipperary Cllr Máirín McGrath was appearing on RTÉ's Prime Time on Tuesday evening to inform communities that all power had been restored across local areas after the recent cold snap, when the crew experienced a power cut caused by an unusual suspect.

Thousands of homes across the country had been left without power this past week with Tipperary among the worst affected.

In a post on Facebook, the Independent councillor for Cahir said just as she was appearing on the show to say all ESB had been restored across the localities, they experienced a power cut caused by a "poor swan" hitting the line.

McGrath has since posted an update on Wednesday morning saying that ESB had been fully restored with the exception of 14 customers in Mulllough, Newcastle.

She also gave a huge thank you to all those working tirelessly to restore power in affected areas and reminded the public to look in on their elderly and isolated neighbours and help out where they can.
