Stakelum’s Office Supplies Mid U16A Hurling Championship Final
Moycarkey Borris 1-16
Durlas Óg 1-14
The Stakelum’s Office Supplies-sponsored Mid U16A Hurling Final took place on a balmy Sunday morning in Drombane GAA Club.
Moycarkey Borris started the match well, energised from their senior club’s emphatic win the previous day. Man of the Match Adam Rice started the scoring for his club with two points, one from a free and one from play, with the Moycarkey forward line all contributing to the score in the first half.
Durlas Óg may have started the slower of the two teams but picked up to finish the half a point up, with goalie James Verling contributing some fine points from distance.
Man of the Match Adam Rice contributed seven points in the second half to claim the U16A title, despite a late surge from Durlas Óg, with Ben Broderick getting a goal, but it was not to be their day.
The Man of the Match award, sponsored by Noel & Michelle McKelvey, was presented to Adam by Noel McKelvey.
Captains Seán Sheehan and Evan Ned Commins collected the cup from Mid Chairman John Fahey.
