An Garda Síochána invited the Media to Templemore to experience the preselection fitness test and Tipperary based reporter Stephen Gleeson went along to do the test and see if it was something attainable - with some training.
Policing is intrinsically rewarding as a career but to reach the trainee stage you must go through a rigorous selection procedure, designed to test whether you have the qualities necessary to become a successful member of An Garda Síochána.
Being a Garda is a tough job - but it’s a job worth doing.
