Operating at wing back here, Connolly had problems with a pacey and efficient Diarmuid Healy in the first half, with the Lisgoold man bagging three first-half points. However, he posed a threat himself at the other end, bagging an obligatory monster point in the first half, and was inches away from a goal in that time.
He was much more dominant in the second half, along with his teammates in the back division, and came away with a mountain of possession. A brilliant year for the Cashel man.
