PA PIC: Cillian Murphy is nominated for best actor for his role in Oppenheimer (Universal Pictures)
Christopher Nolan's epic Oppenheimer has swept the Oscars 2024 nominations, picking up 13 nods including 'best actor' for Irish star Cillian Murphy.
Murphy, who plays atomic bomb creator J Robert Oppenheimer, was nominated for his first Academy Award.
The other 'best actor' nominees include Paul Giamatti (The Holdovers), Bradley Cooper (Maestro), Jeffrey Wright (American Fiction) and Colman Domingo (Rustin).
Murphy is the early favourite to scoop the prize on March 10.
