Tipperary TidyTowns groups deserve better financial support insists Cllr Declan Burgess

A plea for more financial support to be allocated to Tidy Towns groups was made at a meeting of Tipperary/Cahir/Cashel Municipal District.

Cllr Declan Burgess told officials that the €58,000 allocated to Tidy Towns groups in Tipperary Town, Cahir and Cashel should be increased.

He said the groups were doing incredible work in the community and he believed the authority should be providing better financial support.

“This local authority depends on those groups. Is there anything we can do to improve the allocation. An increase in the €58,000 would be very beneficial,” said Cllr Burgess.

The question of funding for Tidy Towns arose as members were discussing the Draft Budgetary Plan 2027.
