Speaking on the case, Detective James Brannigan said:

“This was the most challenging case of my 20-year career in the PSNI, as a Detective Sergeant in the Homicide Investigation Team. The intimidation I endured from senior officers drove me on to find the truth as to what happened to Katie Simpson.

“It was never about being right; it was about doing the right thing. I have now set up The Katie Trust to help other families in similar circumstances.”

With exclusive access to police, family, Katie’s boyfriend and friends, The Showjumper Murder uncovers the truth behind Katie’s tragic death and the outcome of the short-lived trial that gripped the country.
