The Tipp Mid West Radio Why Weight Management campaign is well underway with seven participants taking the plunge to lose weight sensibly.

The campaign was initiated by radio presenter Breda Ryan, who struggled with weight gain for years and finally lost the weight she wanted over the last two years.

Nora Barron from Cashel, Mary Kavanagh and Marie O Connell from Tipperary Town, Breda Cleary, Oola, Catriona Devlin, Annacarty, Bill Cussen from Galbally and Shane Egan from Clonmel have all taken on the challenge to lose weight and be healthier. In week one the group collectively lost 29lbs and in the second week 34lbs; that’s 63lbs in total for two weeks.

Marie O’Connell said she found it challenging to get out for walks and had to push herself to do the exercise but that she feels great afterwards. “The easiest part has been cutting down my portion sizes. dDinking lots of water helps,” To follow the participants progress go to Facebook, wieghtandstyle or tune into Breda’s breakfast show.
