This group enjoyed the ploughing in Poulmucka
Cllr Andy Moloney has said that all roads led to Poulmucka last Sunday, October 19 for the popular local Ploughing Match.
This year’s competition took place on the lands of Pat Nugent, where the National Ploughing Championship took place back in 1993.

The club had 11 representatives in Tullamore this year and there were also some members judging. An added bonus was that both Lorcan and Kieran Bergin emerged as winners in their class and were on view in Poulmucka last Sunday.
The Bergin family has a huge tradition of ploughing, so along with the other local representatives, we were treated to a fantastic exhibition of ploughing.
As usual the local Ballingeary ICA provided the hearty refreshments and was a great day out meeting neighbours and learning what ploughing is all about and how it's judged.

It started at 12 noon and from 1pm there was the great sight of the ploughmen in action once the opening furrows are completed.
Well done to all competitors, it was a fantastic day and well done to the organisers for another great Poulmucka Ploughing match. We will have the results next week.
