The school's quiz, which attracts more than 25,000 participating students nationwide, each year, is the largest competition of its type in the country.  Run over three stages from February to April, the competition culminates in a national final in the RDS Dublin.

The competition is divided by age group into two categories.  Competition A is categorised for entrants that are under 11 years of age and Competition B is for children under 13 years of age.
