A musical recital to raise funds for a piano for Owning House takes place this weekend

An afternoon of piano recitals by the students of renowned pianist Quynh Shannon takes place at Owning House in Owning village near Carrick-on-Suir this Sunday, April 14.

The recital will be in two parts. The first starts at 2pm. and the second at 4 pm.

Quynh's students are lucky enough to be taught by a lady who has travelled and performed all over the world.

She studied in Hanoi first, then Germany, where she completed her second masters concentrating on chamber music performance, before moving to Savannah State University in America, where she was the university's instructor of piano for 10 years before coming to Ireland.

"We have been lucky enough to have had performances here at Owning House by students of Quynh's last December, and this Sunday promises to be another special event," said Owning House & Retirement Village owners Eddie Reade.

"The recital is part of a fundraiser that Quynh has organised for us here to buy a new piano for our retirement village," he added.
A raffle will take place on the day, for some fantastic prizes including a first prize of €300 cash. Tickets are on sale  in Owning House and can be purchased on the day.
