The Comeragh Wilds Festival will mark its 10th birthday in style this summer

Curraghmore House in Portlaw will be the venue for an open air concert staring the High Kings during the Comeragh Wilds Festival in July

The Comeraghs Wild Festival’s organising committee is pulling out all the stops for the festival’s 10th birthday and has announced that the July event will now run over two successive weekends.

The birthday celebrations begin on Saturday, July 6, in the magical Curraghmore estate in Portlaw with an open-air concert in the history-steeped courtyard featuring The High Kings, Ceol and more.

The festival continues the following Thursday to Sunday, July 11 to 14 and will include an even greater mix of music, dance and outdoor events celebrating the unique history, culture and natural beauty of the Comeragh Mountains, Copper Coast and Nire Valley region.

Festival spokesperson, Bernadette Drohan, said: “We’re thrilled to go all out for our 10th birthday and celebrate across two weekends. Tickets for Curraghmore are already on sale on Eventbrite and we’re extending the early bird ticketing over the coming weeks.

“We’ve a few surprises up our sleeves both weekends and look forward to meeting up with neighbours, family, friends and visitors to the region across the two Festival weekends. We’re very thankful to Waterford City & County Council for their support again this year and to our volunteers who are continuing to work on the Festival programme. It’ll be great and we’re looking forward to two fantastic weekends.”

Further details on the Festival programme will be announced closer to the event on the Comeraghs Wild social media channels, on the Festival website. www.comeraghswild.com and in local media.
