The 40th anniversary of cycling legend Sean Kelly's famous 1985 Nissan Classic time trial performance between Carrick-on-Suir and Clonmel will be celebrated with two special performances of Clonmel composer Eamon O'Malley's original work of music - 24:09 - that is inspired by the Carrick man's feat.

The concerts performed by Mr O'Malley will be take place at Brewery Lane Theatre in Carrick-on-Suir at 5pm and 8pm on Saturday, September 27, which is the 40th anniversary of Sean Kelly's famous time trial cycle that he completed in a blistering 24 minutes and 9 seconds.
The performances also aptly take place on the same weekend the Tour de France style L'Etape Ireland cycling event will bring several thousand cyclists to Carrick-on-Suir. The 100km and 150km cycles start and finish in Carrick on Sunday, September 28.
Mr O'Malley's performances of his original music composition for piano and electronics at Brewery Lane will be accompanied by a film by John O’Dwyer featuring drone footage of the original route and restored footage from the 1985 race.
24:09 was premiered at Clonmel's Junction Arts Festival in July.
Tickets for the Brewery Lane performances cost €10 plus booking fee and go on sale today (Saturday, September 6) at 10am.
