A significant jobs announcement for Tipperary has been confirmed as well as the unveiling of a new HQ.

Cllr Declan Burgess said: "I am delighted to have joined Unitec IT Solutions on Thursday to mark two significant milestones — the official opening of their new headquarters and the celebration of their 16th anniversary.

"Unitec’s journey over the past sixteen years is a shining example of what resilience, innovation, and ambition can achieve."

Unitec is an Irish-owned provider of Managed IT Services to organisations ranging in size from single user environments, all the way up to multi-national entities with multi-site deployments.

Established in 2009, it operates out of Clonmel, Cork, Dublin and Waterford City.

Cllr Burgess added: "The opening of their new offices signals not just a celebration of their past successes, but a strong statement of future intent and growth.

"Today’s announcement of 30 new high-quality tech jobs across six counties, including here in Tipperary, is a fantastic endorsement of regional Ireland.

"These roles — in IT support, cybersecurity, and cloud engineering — are exactly the kind of opportunities that help retain skilled talent in our communities and strengthen Ireland’s growing digital economy.

"Tipperary County Council remains committed to supporting businesses like Unitec through our Economic Development team, and I want to thank County Tipperary Chamber CEO Michelle Aylward and all our stakeholders who work tirelessly to promote enterprise and job creation across the county.

"Tipperary is an ambitious, future-focused county. We offer a skilled workforce, strong infrastructure, and a quality of life that supports both business success and personal wellbeing. It is this combination that makes our county such an attractive location for companies seeking to grow and invest.

"Unitec’s continued presence and expansion here reflect a shared vision — one where people can pursue exciting, meaningful careers without leaving their home counties. This commitment to balanced regional development is one that Tipperary County Council fully supports.

"I want to sincerely thank Ian Power and the entire Unitec team for their continued belief in and commitment to Tipperary. Your work is helping shape a stronger, more connected Ireland.

"I wish you continued success as you enter this exciting new chapter."
