Tribute paid to a proud Tipperary man by Family Carers Ireland

The manager of the Family Ireland Carers branch in  Clonmelhas paid tribute to the late Colm Fennessy who passed away recently.

Family Carers Manager Cllr Richie Molloy said Colm was very proud to be from Clonmel and was a family carer for many years.

"Colm cared for his late mother and a number of years ago invited family carers from Clonmel and Cork to visit the Main Guard in Clonmel where he worked as an OPW guide and gave a very informative lecture of the history of both the Main Guard and Clonmel .

Many Cork Carers contacted me when the news of his passing was known, as they had such great memories of that visit and the great welcome Colm gave during that particular National Carers Week .

 Colm was also a great member of the St Marys Choral Society, where he played many leading roles and of course he was always a very interesting man to meet because he had such a vast knowledge of the history of the town of Clonmel going back to Cromwellian Times .”
