Memorable day for students as special musical memories created at a Tipperary primary school

Students at Powerstown National School enjoyed listening to the Army Band

The students of Powerstown National School in Clonmel were treated to an unforgettable musical experience when the Band 1 Brigade from Cork, under the direction of Commandant Fergal Carroll, visited the school for a special concert.

The band performed a vibrant selection of music such as Ireland’s Call, and Golden, from K-Pop Demon Hunters, which proved to be a particular favourite among the pupils.

One of the most engaging parts of the visit was the band’s demonstration of each instrument.
Students were given a unique opportunity to see and hear the full range of instruments up close, gaining valuable insight into how they work and the distinctive sounds they produce.

This hands-on musical education added depth to the performance and sparked curiosity among many budding young musicians.

The concert also featured two Clonmel natives, Keith Dwyer-Greene and Emmet Donlan.
Adding to the occasion the school’s own 3rd, 4th and 5th classes proudly performed on the recorders they have been learning with their tutor, Peter Taylor.
