LIVE: Tipp gardaí say HGVs 'could not continue travelling' after stone throwing incident

Several HGVs were damaged in the course of the incident and could not continue travelling.

Gardaí at Newport are appealing for witnesses following an incident of criminal damage and endangerment to vehicles that occurred on the M7 at Castlecranna, county Tipperary.

Shortly after 7:30pm on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, gardaí responded to reports of stones being thrown at passing vehicles on the motorway.

Several HGVs were damaged in the course of the incident and could not continue travelling.

No injuries were reported. No arrests have been made to date.

Gardaí are appealing for any motorists with information, or to those who may have dash cam footage from the Junction 26 area between 6pm and 7:30pm to contact Nenagh Garda Station on 067 50450, the the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda Station.

Investigations are ongoing.
