Gardaí from the East Clare/Tipperary North division conducted a Mandatory Intoxicant Checkpoint in Newport, resulting in the seizure of three vehicles.

One unaccompanied driver failed a roadside drug test and was subsequently arrested. They were taken to Nenagh Garda Station, where a blood sample was collected and sent for analysis.
In addition to the arrests and vehicle seizures, several Fixed Charge Notices were also issued.
Gardaí continue to urge motorists to drive responsibly and remain compliant with road safety laws.
