Laois gardaí have arrested a BMW driver who was detected well over the speed limit in Laois.
The motorists was driving high powered BMW X6 on the M7 motorway.

"This BMW was living up to the slogan — but not in a good way.
"The Ultimate Driving Machine hit 178km/h on the M7…and straight into Garda a speed check," gardaí stated.

They said: "The driver was arrested and charged to appear before Portlaoise District Court.
"Drive smart. Drive legal. Stay safe."
