A 39-year-old man arrested in connection with the seizure of illegal drugs with an estimated value of €17,540 along with a quantity of cash and items associated with drug dealing during a Garda search of a house in the Bansha area yesterday (Thursday, January 23) has been released from garda custody.

Gardaí from the Tipperary Divisional Drugs Unit, Crime Task Force and Limerick Dog Unit seized suspected cocaine with an approximate street value of €8,400, a kilo of Benzocaine worth approximately €2,000, a quantity of cannabis herb and 3,570 Alprazolam tablets worth an estimated €7,140 during the search operation.
A garda spokesman confirmed a file on the case will now be prepared for submission to the Director of Public Prosecutions.
More than €2,000 in cash was also seized along with electronic items and paraphernalia associated with the sale and supply of controlled substances.
