'Keep an eye out’: Gang of teens spotted 'hunting' stray cats in Tipperary
A group of teenagers were allegedly ‘hunting’ on the grounds of Our Lady’s County and Surgical Hospital in Cashel
Tipperary Councillor Liam Browne has urged members of the public in Cashel to ‘keep an eye out’ after he was alerted to reports of a “group of teens and a child with lamps and lurchers walking around hunting cats”.
A passer-by reportedly ‘disturbed’ the group as they were allegedly ‘hunting’ on the grounds of Our Lady’s County and Surgical Hospital in the town at approximately midnight on Tuesday, September 8..
Tipperary Live previously reported on the amount of feral cats in the Cashel area , a situation which Cllr Martin Browne previously described as being ‘out of control’.
A volunteer group was formed in response to the rising levels of stray cats in the area called, ‘The Cashel Feral Cat Project’, which traps , neuters and humanely releases stray and feral cats.
Cllr Browne shared a statement on Facebook regarding the alleged sighting in Cashel earlier this week:
“Just got the following message.. can people keep an eye out please, Hi Liam can you mention on your page please there's a group of teens and a child with lamps and lurchers walking around the town hunting cats, just disturbed them on the grounds of the hospital, cheers,” he wrote.
