Loughmore’s James Egan and Aherlow’s Brian Moroney were the only two Tipperary men present in Ruislip for a special medal presentation evening.

They were among the members of the London hurling team who won promotion to the Division 2A after a 1-16 to 1-14 victory over Meath in the decider in Newbridge.

James hurls for the Kilburn Gaels club while Brian, who is a son of ‘Effin Eddie’ Moroney, is a member of the Harrow-based Granuaile club.

Also present at the presentation was former London manager Eamonn Phelan who has now returned to live in Ireland. The two Tipperary men are pictured with the Kilkenny man who is a native of Carrickshock.

The London footballers who made history by reaching their first Connacht final and also the last 12 of this year’s championship were also given a special presentation on the evening.

Templemore goalkeeper and Parnells club member Evan Byrne was among the London panellists present.
