Article in this week's Nationalist and Tipp Star on Mary Knight Long
For the very first Local Business Promotion Series of the year I am delighted to welcome Mary Knight Long, originally from Ballykisteen but for the past fifteen years she has lived in the little village of Emly along with her husband Philip Long and their three dogs.
Mary is now a qualified Wedding Celebrant and has recently launched her business: MKL Wedding Celebrant.
Born to beloved parents Pauline Knight née Fitzgerald from Castle-Erkin, county Limerick and Billy Knight from Geashill, county Offaly who are since deceased, Mary studied Business Studies in college and has worked for a Mobile Communications company ever since.
She is an active member of the Sologhead Choir, having first joined when she was just six years of age and she is involved in her adopted village of Emly with the Emly Tidy Towns, currently acting as Assistant Secretary on the committee.
Wedding celebrancy is something Mary has always been interested in and she has recently qualified as a Wedding Celebrant, accredited by the Irish Institute of Celebrants.
Mary relishes the idea of helping to create a beautiful and individual ceremony that no guest will ever forget.
Mary has a very natural and friendly manner and she will instinctively put the bride and groom at ease ensuring they get the most out of their ceremony.
Mary has great experience working in the wedding sector as she has worked in a part-time capacity as a wedding singer and wedding florist for over twenty years so she is very aware of the complex planning that goes into a wedding ceremony.
Based just outside Tipperary Town, Mary is very happy to travel to your wedding location.
She has excellent attention to detail and would strive to create a beautiful bespoke ceremony that reflects both your personalities.
Mary is happy to write your vows or equally happy for you to create your own.
She offers lots of guidance around these and will provide you with sample vows.
Mary can also provide you with details of the many rituals associated with a ceremony, i.e. hand-fasting, ring exchange and many more.
With your full input, she can tailor the ceremony to your individual needs and wants.
It is the most important day of your life and Mary certainly has the skills to ensure the ceremony is beautiful, unique and individual to both of you.
She is currently taking bookings for 2023/2024. You can contact Mary on her phone: 086 233 3333 or alternatively on her email address: maryknightlong@gmail.com
Some testimonial about Mary’s work from the Irish Institute of Celebrants:
“Mary is a wonderful celebrant, professional and articulate with an excellent ability to command the room, a joy to watch.”
The very best wishes to Mary for the future and we all wish her every success in her new business venture.
